4 days for dialogue, exchanges and negotiations
Every year parallel to the main exhibition, there will be a separate
exhibit, on a new theme with book presentations, discussions etc.
at the Book Fair. For 2005, the theme is the
Honouring the multicultural identity of the city, in 2005 the Book Fair will host a series of literary encounters: In
love with differences, a series of meetings with authors from nearby countries.
Meetings for book professionals to explore issues such as: the international
book markets, school libraries, Presentation
of the Biblionet database, Information
Day for librarians etc.
In the framework of the "Cooperation Project in the field of books and reading" (2004-2007), realised with the support of the Culture 2000 programme of the EU, the National Book Centre coordinates the annual meeting of the partners (publishers/ and booksellers/ federations (F.E.P.) (E.B.F.) and authors/ federations (E.W.C) ) at the Book Fair.
Book agent meetings
Book agents will be invited in order to discover the Greek book and the Greek market.
Seminars for professionals
3-day seminars will be organised for foreign publishers, booksellers, and librarians interested to explore Greek literature and the Greek book in general. The first day will be spent at the Book Fair and the next two at a resort in Chalkidiki, where participants will be able to meet Greek authors.
To bring the public into the heart of the book publishing process, these workshops will explore all the stages: from the original idea, to the actual book writing process, then to all the steps of book production until the final product ends up at the hands of the reader, be they a Greek or a foreigner, an adult or a child.

During the Book Fair there will be scheduled visits from schools of the area, book presentations and creative workshops etc.
Books and Cinema
The National Book Centre of Greece will organise a series of meetings, discussions and movie screenings based on adaptations of exceptional books.
Since 2006, The Book Fair will host a guest country every year.
